The Glens travelled to Dalkeith for this top of the table clash, the management team were dealt a blow in the morning with three call offs. i.e. S. McDonald, Grierson, C. Schiavone.

First half
Glens looked very lively at the start of the game and created a couple of half chances in the first couple of minutes of the game but to no avail. On five minutes Andrew had an effort just slip past the post, Glens won a free kick thirty yards from goal from which Dowie touched on to the post from Macaulay. Glens then conceded a free kick which won the home side a corner kick, from the resultant kick Wortley did well to punch clear from a crowded six-yard box, minutes later another corner was cleared off the line by Smart. On fifteen minutes Russell had an excellent chance to open the scoring but was saved by Dowie, two minutes later Deland had an effort strike the crossbar. Both teams were now creating chances and King was the next to try his luck, but his shot was too high. A header from Andrew was saved by Dowie, the same player broke clear on twenty-five minutes but was pulled up for offside. Next a long-range effort from Burrows was pushed over the bar by Wortley. A fine move down the left-hand side involving Macaulay and McLeod-Kay was stopped by an excellent tackle from McPartlin, a dangerous free kick from Macaulay was headed clear by Woods. On the half hour mark Andrew again broke clear but was marginally offside. Wortley did well to save an effort from Gillan, Glens conceded a foul twenty yards from goal which was well hit by McFadden but Wortley again made a fine save. Another run and cross from Kinnes was well defended. on thirty-eight minutes Glens took the lead from a long throw in Russell had an effort punched clear by Dowie only for the ball to fall at the feet of Andrew to shoot home. At the other end a run and cross from Deland was saved by Wortley, there was not much in it at half time but Glens just shading it.

Second half
The second half started with the home side on the offensive and a chance fell to McFadden but his effort was wide. After sustaining a little bit of pressure McLeod-Kay broke clear and was unlucky not to find Andrew with his cross. Smart did well to deny Deland a goal scoring opportunity before another run and cross from McLeod-Kay was desperately cleared by the defence. Next a header from McDonald fell short for Wortley to reach but Smart stepped in to save the Glens from danger. A header from Farnie was pushed round the post by Wortley, on the hour mark L. Schiavone replaced Russell. The home side were pushing hard for the equaliser, but the glens defence were giving nothing away, another run and cross from McLeod-Kay found Schiavone but his effort was wide. Watt then blasted the ball over from twenty yards. McFadden had a chance to equalise, but Wortley made a fine save from his effort. On seventy minutes Hynd replaced Denton, two minutes later the home side equalised when a free kick into a crowded penalty area skimmed the head of Macaulay and ended up in the net, Deland then had another effort cleared for a corner. On eighty minutes a shot from Kinnes just missed the target, Calderwood then replaced Andrew. A cross from L. Schiavone was cleared for a corner kick, from the kick Watt had an effort cleared off the line but the ball fell to Calderwood who slotted the ball home. On eighty-eight minutes Schiavone had a chance to score a third when he broke clear and rounded Dowie only to see Gillan get back and clear off the line.
An excellent result against a very good Dalkeith side and for long periods the game could have gone either way.

Managers Report
Well there has never been a truer saying than that football has its highs and lows. With last weeks poor result to this weeks fantastic result it certainly makes our weekends a lot more sweeter. I must say all credit has to go to all the team today, we asked for a reaction to last weeks result and we certainly got that. Each player gave their all from start to finish and won their battles all over the park. Thought we started the game well created a few chances and got ourselves in front with a good finish from Owen. Dalkeith probably finished the first half and started the second half slightly the better team again we had a few chances to double our lead but Dalkeith got one back. The pitch was heavy we looked a bit tired but the lads that came off the bench gave us some fresh legs. We piled on the pressure and showed great character to get ourselves back in front with a great finish from Paddy. We could have finished the game off when Lea Schiavone made a great run and took it round the goalie for it to be cleared of the line. Ross also kept us in it with great saves in both halves.

In all a good result but we now need to kick on with another tough game next week against Haddington.
