Glenrothes FC plan
Starting with the 2019/20 season, a new Glenrothes will rise
After many decades as a junior club the forthcoming season see's the club move to the East of Scotland Football League, this will give the club a chance to renew, restore and reinvigorate a new identity, one that puts the community at the heart of the club. The old junior club will remain an integral part of the clubs history and going forward we will take great pride in our past achievements, but as a football club we need to move on from past images and perceptions that no longer represent the modern club. As part of the new identity, Glenrothes FC will have community at the heart of what we do. If we are to succeed, we need the community at the heart of our project to build new success on and off the pitch and to build a club the town deserves
On Field
Starting with the decision to move to the EoSFL, the club has made preliminary moves to have better community relations. Going forward, the club has plans to develop a full youth set-up for young players to develop and reach their potential all in one place from a young age to 11's, U20's and eventually the first team. This will be a long term goal that will take several years to fully develop, and starting with the new 2019/20 season, we will have an U17's team that has a four year pathway to U20's football and a full partnership with the Young Glens that has teams for 2010's and 2011's. This is just the start of the youth development project for the club and aim to build on this and have more teams from 2020 onwards
Off Field
The Club have successfully negotiated a lease with Fife council over a lease off Warout Stadium, that will allow for a family friendly community hub that will not only allow for all Glenrothes FC teams to reach their potential on the field, whilst giving the Glenrothes community a new hub that will be of great benefit to the town. The successful negotiation over Warout Stadium will transform the club from a community afterthought, into a leading community hub that will benefit the entire town. With the facilities that will be available we hope that Warout Stadium will grow beyond football and the facility will be used as a wider community space for the benefit of the town as a whole.
Formed in 1964
Formed in 1964, the club has been on of Fife's most successful junior clubs, winning over 50 trophies in 55 years.
Senior in 2019
But many tough seasons and stagnation, the club sucessfully applied to join the EoSFL, in the hope of building a club everyone can be proud of.
Building for future
As we start our journey in to the EoSFL and pyramid, we hope this can be the needed renewal that can build up the club as a force, this time with the community at the heart of the club
